How much did you spend on your first press? Not including all the extras you had to buy cause usually that's an afterthought...

Don't recall the exact amount, but, under $100. New RCBS Rock Chukar S/S in '77-'78 at a Big 5. Still use it.

My latest rig is a Lee Load All 2 12g for $40 new. I have been wishing I could get a progressive as it takes 6 pulls to get a shell...

My original intention was to only load 9mm, started with a Dillon 650.

Mow there's a Rock Choker next to the 650 and to some degree I enjoy the single stage better.

The Ponsness Warren really are not that much and come up all of the time. I just purchased an excellent condition 800B with all of the upgrades on it for two hundred bucks. You can't beat that, and I have seen them for Less also.

My first was a rock chucker for like 30 bucks new in 77. My latest about 8 years ago was a chucker and an old Pacific press, five die sets for 70 bucks.

Nothing. Inherited my Fathers old C&H.

Got my first Rock Chucker for $25

Got my second Rock Chucker for free.

Got my "virtually never used" Lyman Spartan for $35 just last week.

$5.00, it was a Herter 6 hole turret, the next press was a 2 ram Herter, after that came the U Herter press and all of the 3s.

I bought a Lee reloading manual for about $50 many years back and it came with one of their aluminum single stage presses. Use it as a dedicated decapper for now. Might mount a powder measure to it next.

Same here. That "kit" was about $45-$50, and it got me started. I still have it and use it. It gets used for all initial load development, as well as all my cast "boolit" sizing. The latter duty means that it's gotten, and continues to get, a *LOT* of use. Still going strong after sizing tens of thousands of cast boolits, mostly for .38 Special.

Lee single stage kit, early 90s, still use it.

Made a rotary tumbler out of an old 8mm movie projector.

I got mine for free (an RCBS Jr. IIRC) from a friend who won it, but never used it. I won't tell you how much that press really ended up costing me in the long run after catching the reloading bug.

Free from a friend who no longer used it.

The money is in tools for case prep and now an electronic scale.

I can't say I've saved money on ammunition but even before ammo disappeared from the shelves, the biggest benefit was not having to drive three hours to pick up centerfire ammo from a retail store.
