.357 reloading with rifle primers question

I would like to load some .357. However, I do not have any small pistol magnum primers but I do have small, large and magnum rifle primers.

Did anyone loaded .357 with rifle primers and what powder?

You do not have to use sp magnum just burns hotter. More chamber pressure.

I use SRP and SPP for all my 357 rounds and have had excellent results with 14.5 grains of blue dot and or 10 grains of WIN 231

You may have an issue with rifle primers in a revolver.light strikes caused by the harder cup.
Just saying.

I load my .357 Maximum using SRP magnum. The two loads are with a cast 192 gr gas-check bullet at 1730 FPS and 146 gr JHP at 1925 fps. from a 7.5” Ruger Blackhawk. I use WW296 powder that just fills the available space in the case.
One might need to adjust the charge weight if going from pistol to rifle primers. I would not hesitate to use rifle primers in a .357 magnum.

I use SRP with .357 as well. I've not had any problems. I've heard you'll want to use a gun with a heavy hammer since the SRP are thicker. My Ruger P100 and Marlin 1894 have had zero problems. I didn't modify the load from what's recommended for my powder and bullet.

I do not have any spp and I'm going to use it my revolver not rifle. I just got some 158 gr SWC. Looking forward to try something new.

2400 doesn't need magnum primers, and fast burning pistol powders like titegroup or bullseye don't necessarily need them either. Different data sources list different combinations.

During the last shortage, I tested this w/9mm & SRP.

CCI #41's "as I recall" went ~50-75FPS faster, so I assume they might be Mag equivs?

No difference I noticed with CCI #400 (SRP) in 9mm, nor CCI #500's (SPP) in .223/5.56, but I was not loading max data in anything, but on the higher end of Unique in 9mm...
