Reloading data for 204 ruger with Hornady NTX 24 gr.

I’m looking to load some 204 RUGER ammo using Hornady NTX 24 grain projectiles. Was looking for Powder weight range for this projectile using any of the following powders (ones I have on hand):

    Varget
    Hodgen 4895
    IMR4198
    Reloader 15

None of these are listed in the latest Lyman book. Was hoping someone has a Hornady book that might list any of these?

    Hornady 10th Ed., Page 132 lists Accurate 2015, Norma 200, Alliant RL-10X, VV N-133, Accurate 2230, Benchmark, X-terminator, and Win 748. FPS ranging from 3,900 to 4,500.

Thank you Criss. Guess I won’t be loading any of these until powders become available again.

Go to the Hodgdon Reloading web site. Select .204 Ruger for the cartridge, 24 grains for the bullet weight, both IMR and Hodgdon powders, and then H4895 and IMR 4198. There's one set of load data available for each of them.

I use IMR 4198 with a variety of .223 projectiles and get good results. Not necessarily bugholes, but good enough to make ground squirrels into gymnasts. NTX projectiles shoot well in both rifles...and even better in a .17 HMR.

Thanks for the link Jack, helped a lot. I was able to find the data you listed. I had checked their site previously but couldn’t find what I was looking for. I must be internet challenged.

You're welcome. Let us know what kinds of results you get, or at least let me know. If they weren't so expensive, 35 grain NTX is all I'd shoot in my .223s.

Will do. Now to get my gemPro scale to settle down. Been on for three days but it’s still wandering.

If you have trouble finding load data also check .20 Tactical and .20 Practical loads online. They are both based on a .223 Remington case necked down, .20T just has a different shoulder angle. Due to this they can only be hand loaded so there may be more data. They are very similar to .204 Ruger with just slight case variations so start low and work up. I'm building my .20 Practical AR right now, so unfortunately I don't know if any good loads yet.

Thanks for the info, I’ll check out the .20T and .20P loads.
