38 Special/Winchester "Silver Tip"

Hello to all,

I finally scored a purchase of a nice used revolver in 38 special! I've been trying to purchase a nice revolver for home use since the pandemic started.

Regarding ammo for this I was wondering if Winchester still makes the "Silver Tip" 38 special in 110 grain?

As things starts to get better and the shelves start to grow again I want to get a couple boxes of this ammo.

First, good on the purchase of the revolver.

Now, you would do well to also consider reloading some inexpensive FMJ ammo to replicate the ballistics of this Silvertip load. This would be practice ammo.

Good for you! .38 Special is one of my favorite revolver calibers (I have 5 .38 Special revolvers). They are accurate, fun and very capable for home defense (or carry if you have a CCW).

Yeah, OP, let's see a pic if you can. The .38 Special really is a fine, all around good cartridge. And I will reiterate the suggestion to reload for this round. The .38 Special is quite possibly the easiest, and one of the most common (maybe *the* most common), rounds to reload for.
