So I normally reload fmj bullets
Do to the current time I purchased some coated bullets from bayou bullets
My question is can I follow the same hornady recipe
For fmj bullets for the coated bullets being the same 115gr

I think you'd want to use the data for lead bullets. The experts here can confirm or deny.

Yes you can. Coated bullets will give you a faster fps than jacketed, so you can actually use a 1/10th or 2 less powder if you want the same velocity.

Try to use data for lead, if possible for your bullet-powder combo. If you can't and only have data for jacketed and your powder, I would lower the charge because some coated/lead bullets will seal better and develop more pressure in addition to the extra velocity. Check some other manuals.

You should get the Lyman 50th reloading manual since the Hornady book doesn't have lead data. Or you can check the powder manufacturer's website for data.

When reloading with lead bullets (including PC bullets) you will have to bell the case mouth a little more than you would with jacketed bullets. If you don't, the case mouth can shave lead off the bullet while seating. Also, I do seating and crimping as two separate operations while loading cast bullets for the same reason. You should get the Lyman cast bullet handbook. Also, check out the Castboolits website for a wealth of information about lead bullets.
