    You'll be fine. I load 7.3gr for a 250gr full wadcutter that seats half the bullet outside the case.

      Er for 45 colt though, but load data for 45 colt with 800x goes down to 7000psi so it does work in that range.

          Hodgdon also shows a load with a 200gr rnfp 44mag at 5.9gr and 10,500 cup. Who told you that your revolver would blow up with light loads?

                  Happens generally with slow burning powders with small powder fill ratios [Note that I've never seen this; this is theoretical/hypothetical/anecdotal.]

                  Powder ignites, but the decrease in pressure as the bullet starts moving slows the burning, and allows the bullet to stop in the barrel. Powder burns slowly until pressure builds to the point that it burns normally and you get an overpressure event due to the stuck bullet.
