308 projectile cost

Good Morning,

Prior to prices shooting through the roof, what was a "normal" price for bulk/plinking 308 projectiles?

I found some FMJ 147gr for .20, which seems decent in the current environment, just curious how that compared to prices a year ago or so...

A year ago or more, Hornady's 55 grain FMJs for .223 were going for between 6 and 7 cents apiece in bulk at retail. On that basis, I'd say 20 cents for 147 grain .308 FMJs is decent.

Another point of comparison: 55 grain VMAX varmint bullets retailed for 15 cents or so a year ago.

If I needed .308 bullets right now, I'd spent 20 cents apiece.

I think I pay about 25 cents for 168 A-Max

I recently paid $100 for 1k of some unknown 168gr bulk pills that I wasn't looking for and don't necessarily need but will use them eventually... what I am saying is that in todays market if you see something that is a deal or seems like a fair price it is probably best just to buy it rather than waiting or looking for a better price because everything seems to still be going up right now

A few years ago I bought 2k 150gr .308 FMJBT for .18 each. Anything in the .20 range us good for .308.
