Question: FFL needed for ammo trade?

I have some Rem 44 Mag ammo (49 to be exact) I picked up a couple of years ago as part of a box full of different calibers. These look like they are factory reloads as the case stamps are 4-5 different brands. They were in a plastic tray with no box so I have no idea where they came from. they could be private reloads for all I know.

I don't own a 44 mag so I thought I might trade them for some 45ACP or something. Do I have to transfer these at a LGS and vise versa with what/whomever I trade them? Or can I legally swap without an FFL since I'm not actually selling them?

    Thanks
