Sold some ammo to a person in-state, but it has to be shipped to their FFL. What would the FFL need from me, or is it only the buyer that has to deal with that? Any insight would be appreciated.

Shipping ammo in-state?

Call the FFL that the buyer has selected and ask them. I don't think the FFL needs anything from you as you aren't really transferring the ammo to them like you would a firearm.
You would probably have to abide by the 500 round per month limit, though.Comment

Spot on. I called the FFL, and they were as perplexed as I was. Bottom line is I sent it via UPS to them with the buyer's contact info inside. And while I didn't have to give any info as to myself, if there was ever an issue, Exhibit A would be the listings I put up on Gunbroker that I sold in-state!
And THORKILL, not sure of what scam you're referring to. I sold ammo. The buyer was in-state. I want to abide by California laws, so I posted the question. If that's a scam in your mind, I don't know how to even begin to address that.Comment
