Any creative uses for empty 1lb powder bottles?

Was wondering if anyone has come up with a use for the empty black 1lb powder bottles.

I figure I should keep a few to pour powder into from an 8lb jug. Lot easier to manage that way.

Just wondering before I toss them in the trash.

Fill with water and use for range targets, cut top off and use as a pot for starting seeds or an avocado. Drill drain holes in bottom and use as an inner pot for ceramic pots with no drain holes.

Fill them with spent primers. Also good for storing change. I made a broquet for my niece using it as a pot, primers as soil.

Awesome ideas....definitely a lot more than I thought of. The bottles are pretty heavy duty and have a lot more uses than just for reloading! I guess I should keep them!!

When working up a 9mm, .357 Mag, or .38 SPL load, I have used them to keep the work-up separate from the bulk stuff I know works well, after slapping on a label I write specifics on...

They seal almost air-tight if you want to use them for moisture-prevention for ammo storage too...

One time I put a dead fish in one. Then I forgot about it on my reloading bench. And like six months later my wife text me asking me what was in this black bottle with no label on it. And she opened it before I could reply and it stunk the whole house up for like 3 days.

Wash and dry, drill holes in the lid, and use as salt and pepper shakers, or seasoning shakers when grilling.

Stuff full of 22lr and seal the threads with gasket maker for burying in the yard.

Use to collect your dead 9v, AA & AAA batteries. When full, dispose of properly.

I cut the bottom off a.few. about 1 1/2 inches.
Use it to put powder in when doing some handloads.
But mainly save for when I open a 8ib jug. Relabel the 1lb bottles. Use blue painters tape for label.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

I keep all of my 1lb bottles for that reason. I refill them with exactly 1lb and keep them near the press. The 8lb jugs get put away elsewhere, or if they are empty I toss those.

I get nervous when refilling the hopper from an 8lb jug. I always imagine theres a clump in there that will dump out and end up losing 1/2lb on the floor.

Wow, I have never had clumps in powder...
Do you live in a high humidity area in ID, and do you leave your jugs open for long periods of time?

I have always left powder in the hopper, for as much as 6 months at a time, if I don't get back to reloading what I thought I would, but still never had this problem...

What is the powder is it that you use which clumps?

If you're a hunter..... Take one up in the tree stand with you... saves you from unwanted trips down... you can drink all the hot tea you desire... when finished hunting, take it with you and dump it out near the truck...

First post, but I've been following for years....

That is a great idea. Perfect for holding rubs for the smoker.
