    Lead Bullets Source?

For range ammo I've started reloading. A friend has given me an introduction and supplies to get started. The problem is his markup on bullets, powder and primers.

He introduced me to lead bullets because of cost and after a few adjustments I'm happy with it. I'd like to purchase those myself but need some sources that aren't crazy high $. Money's a big factor since our business is pretty much gone and have to really tighten up.

Can you guys provide me with a few sources to order from?

    Thanks

Bayou bullets are pretty good but every one has long lead times for delivery

Lowest priced Hi-Tek coated lead bullets. When accuracy matters.

I've only bought 9mm from this guy but they are pretty good and the right price.

If you find bullets, just get them. A shooting friend of mine is a bullet caster and due to the Biden Craziness, he is four months behind in orders.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Ordered those and powder. Now the challenge of small primers.

As others mentioned, most, if not all suppliers are back logged and will be for some time. It's a bit tough out there right now. Especially for someone new getting in the game.

Missouri has always been somewhat of a benchmark, the fact that they offer variable hardness makes their offerings more appealing to people who care about such things... but that was precovid.

for Hi-tek coated - Missouri, Bayou and I am waiting on a shipment from ACME
for cast - I have only ever ordered from Missouri but I wouldn't hesitate ordering from ACME
                      for swaged - try zero

I primarily load the Hi-Tek coated ones but due to current availability of things if it comes time where I start running low it wouldn't bother me too much if I had to switch back to cast for a little while

And they seem to be catching up, a little.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Going forward, since money is a consideration, you might also consider casting your own. That's what I do. I happen to use Lee Precision's 6-cavity mould and their Pro 4-20 melting/pouring pot, and I can make a whole lot of bullets in a fairly short amount of time. Sources of lead: head over to the www.castboolits.com forum. I think lead is still available on FleaBay, too. Most sources of lead use recovered range lead nowadays, since wheel weights are all zinc and steel now.

Here's the specific mould model that I use.

                          TL356-124-2R, 6-cavity

You'll also need the "Commercial Handles". They're an easy bolt-in.

By the way, yes, I do tumble-lube 'em with Liquid Alox, and it works very well.

This saves me a ton of money when making my rounds. I cast for everything that I reload. Everything. It's not difficult, and here is what a casting session actually looks like. I cast 120 good bullets in 8 minutes in this video.

It really is this simple once you learn how.

i then powder coat them in an ice cream bucket then into a free craigslist toast-r-oven

I like Missouri Bullet Co and CheyCast.

Heard good things about Oregon Trail, never tried them.
