    MEC 600 deprime help

I just got the reloader manual etc and readit.

But i cannot really measure, due to the award angle of the piece in question.

ON the deprime station for low wall shotgun, the probe knocks out the old primer on my 12 ga hull.

Then the resizer comes down to reize. Is having the resizer come down to about a nickle's width of the bottom of the hull's rim about right.

I think the manual says 1/16th of an inch, but my micrometer doesn't fit into that crevice.

I also hear that it's good to deprime as a separate function, though you can do it all at once.

I got 3000 Fiocchi hulls to do........

If the Fioccho's were fired in your shotgun, then they probably don't need resizing.
If not, then you possibly need resizing.
You could check by inserting one into a break-open shotgun chamber to see how it fits.
If you have a pump or semi, then you might try making up a dummy round, one with no live primer and no powder, without resizing to see if it will chamber.
In order to get an accurate measurement, you might try measuring for instance a flat washer first to see if it is the correct dimension of 1/16", then adjust the sizer to touch it at the down-stroke doing away with the awkward angle.
I have not used that resizer, I use the MEC tool sizer separately, which sizes the entire brass head.
I have heard though that it works better doing the sizing operation separately from de-priming.

I've loaded thousands of 12g shells with my Pacific DL366 Progressive reloader w/o sizing them until I've fired them a few times with some of my special money shooting loads in my Rem 870 Wingmaster with a 30" ribbed trap barrel.
