I find that if I hold the case upside down, the media just runs out. It's incredible.

Yep. Old-school traditional, simple, and very functional. I use a similar one from 11 years ago, also from Frankford Arsenal. Still works great.

If you cut some used dryer sheets into strips and throw them in with the brass they'll help keep the media cleaner longer.

been using one of these for years - it will probably out live me.

I recently acquired one of these RCBS separators. I like that media is not tossed every when you tumble. That lid made life much better.

Let me give you some advice. Don't use corn cob or walnut husks. Use BUCKWHEAT off of amazon. It works slightly better, but much faster and it is really cheap. Just throw some Nushine car wax in there and your brass will be great.

Harbor Freight has 24 grit walnut for $24.99 per 25lb box. Couple of squirts of NuFinish and it's GTG.

Yep, this is what I use. A super cheap plastic colander sits perfectly on top of one of those Christmas popcorn tins. A couple shakes and the media falls right through.

I use a sifting cat litter box to separate the crushed walnut media.

Don't use corn cob media with 223 unless it is really fine or it will get stuck.

I liked the RCBS enclosed unit, except that I broke 2 at the hinge and gave up on them.

I wish Dillon made an enclosed unit.

not only has this thread almost certainly converted me to buckwheat but I also had to order a new RCBS media separator, Bastards. I already had the bottle picked out that I was going to spend that money on... now I'm just gong to have to sit here sober instead of my usual day drinking

I use two buckets. 3 gallon inside a 5 gallon. the 3 gallon has the bottom cut out and 1/4" mesh netting riveted in. Pour in and shake around a bit. You can also cap the top bucket to keep the dust down.
