    New to me

Just finished my first batch of 223. I have to say it was a fun learning experience. Loaded up 97 rounds.
This is my process I went with.

    Clean
    Decap and resize
    Trim and deburr
    Clean all pockets
    Check CL
    Clean again
Finish with CCI 41 and Benchmark with a 55 pill

Weighed each one after loaded. Had a few that were high on the weight.

    To the range I go.

I did something similar with my first few batches, except that I weighed the case, the powder and the bullet, then compared with finished weight.

      Took forever

Nice, keep it up! and don't worry you'll learn to hate it - case prep that is.

Already do hate case prep. Do almost everything the same as pistol minus the trim and deburr.

I have always claimed to load .223 but in reality I have everything to load it, but I don't... I would rather just load up some pistol rounds and go to the range or better yet grab a flat of shotshell and head to the club... anything to get out of doing .223 case prep.

it isn't that I don't like doing it rather it is once it is all done and you go to the range it is all gone in 10 minutes

Just do what I did case prep 3k .223 cases and stave off the torture for a few months or a year. And never pick up random range brass, ever, ever again >|

OK, I’ll ask: what happened to the 3 missing primers?

I don't load .223 anymore. Have everything to load it but not worse it anymore. When it's $250 to 275 shipped per 1k last time I looked not worse it to me. In fact I'm using srp for pistol ammo now.

Did you just load from the book. Or did you use various powder loads to test.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
