    223 in Dillon press

Loading 223 on Dillon 550B. Brass is already sized and primed. OK to use press without sizer die in place? Thinkin that if I use sizer die I'll have to lube again. Don't want to if I don't have to. Thanks

You'll be fine... people have been doing it in a single stage since reloading started... ... ...

That's what I do. Just put the primed and resized case in before indexing to the next station.

Reason I asked is wanting to know if a cartridge in sizing die is to keep alignment as true as possible.

I don't all the time on my 550 and 1050 as most my 5.56/ .223 brass has been processed and ready to load.
Makes the process so much cleaner and quicker on the 1050

I highly recommend the lee factory crimp die for necked cartridges made on a progressive.

I had been trying to efficiently make .223 plinking bulk in a progressive for about 5 years, match grade stuff has always been no problem on a single stage but for fast production, in my case, the lee factory crimp die was the key to success.

                          .357 sig and .308 too!
