    POWDER MEASURE FOR PISTOL RELOADING

What's the most accurate powder measure for pistol reloading out there? Seems my charge master is not efficient for measuring small charges like pistol load.

    Thanks in advance.

depends on the powder - I happen to really, really like my old Redding BR3 as it it the only one I have that is actually able to meter clays accurately

Still using my trusty RCBS Uniflow with a micrometer adjustment for handgun. Once adjusted it's consistent within one to two tenths of a grain with Titegroup and CFE Pistol, fine for the casual plinking ammo I load with it. I use the scale on the Chargemaster to check every tenth charge until I'm satisfied it's right on. Then every so often. Consistency of stroke with the charging handle is helpful, so is using the baffle insert in the hopper.

Had two of those, both with complete sets of rotors. Had one in the marketplace for a decent price with no takers, so moved it onto eBay. I kept one for myself, and it is a very nice measure for pistol rounds.

Was the micrometer adjustment for accuracy or convenience of switching powders?

I was considering an upgrade of 'quick change meter screw (small)'.

Which would work better for accuracy purpose?

I am going to throw out that like many things in life fast and easy doesn't go well with accuracy. I know the relatively new match charge machine for $xxxx is supposed to get you within 0.2 tenths or something like that, but what if you want to do better? I'm OK with slow and accurate. The quality of my scale is the essential limitation.

I have older Hornady and RCBS meters that have the smaller diameter pistol "micrometer" or screw inserts on my progressive press. They hold Win 231 to within .1gr accuracy. Good enough for pistol or even match ammo.

Convenience of adjustment when switching charging specs for different calibers. It get me within a few grains, then I dial in using the scale on the Chargemaster. I drop several charges before I call it good, and check every ten drops thereafter.
