    Always Pay Attention

    I was priming a bunch of mix head stamp 9mm today, and I ran across some interesting brass. It was marked 9mm S&B Br.c, but it matches the size of a .380. A quick google search revealed that S&B marks thier .380 as 9mm Br.c, learn something new everyday. I am glad I caught the cases. There a link to some pictures if your curious.

However, reference the first pic, a 9mm case, the S&B "9mm" case, and a .380 case. This is an S&B .380 case, which S&B mark as 9mm Br.c. Fortunately, my priming arm threw the case off the press. Third pic is next to a 9mm case. #reloading #ca #2a #twinTactiCAL".

    Interesting. I did a quick search and found that .380 ACP is designated as 9mm Browning Court by the CIP (Europe). So there's the "Br.C". Nice of them to keep his name in there.

    Of course 9x18 makarov is a nuisance by any name*

    *just kidding. Although I have to wonder if any harm would come from firing it in a 9mm. Probably not?

      The brass gets chowdered, but shoots straight...

      On my XL 650, I notice that the .380 brass goes through the resizer like butter, with less resistance than 9mm. I caught about 5 in my 600 recent 9mm crankings.

      During the last shortage, since I completely loaded a couple 115gr 9mm in a .380 case to the end (aside from crimp) w/a 9mm charge, I decided to test alt.SHTF option... it shot straight, but the brass burst, and went all Glock-brass'd, but DID work in an M9 for 1-shot. As I recall, I don't think it cycled-fully, but good for 1-shot...

      I just read you can shoot .380 in a Makarov, out to 25yd pretty accurately, but keyholing might ensue...

        Never really looked at the head stamp for plinking reloads. Just by size and feel you can tell which is 9mm and 380 brass.

          There's a LOTTA 9mm variants out there, although some - like 9mm Largo - you rarely encounter anymore (at least, laying around on a range).

          I bet reloading the stuff in the '50's was a hootenanny though!

              Corto= italian for short
              Kurz = german for short

              Finding a .380 in your 9mm brass is nowhere near as disappointing as finding a .40 in your 10mm brass.

                Yes I have found .380 before, but the 9mm part threw me off for a minute
