22-250 question

I have about fifty 22-250 range pick-ups that seem to have two different bullet diameters. The larger are all RP headstamp and measure about .2895 OD a - the smaller are mainly WIN with a few RP and FC headstamp measuring about .2560 OD. I'm not going to load them but was going to try to sell them. What's going on with two different neck OD's?

Some were fired in rifles with more generous chamber neck dia.

The larger ones have probably been expanded and loaded with .257 bullets to feed a 250-3000 Savage rifle. 250 Savage brass is not easy to find these days.

out of curiosity why measure the OD of a fired case, especially as a range pick up... there are a couple of reasons why the discrepancy could occur but you do not have nor do you have the ability to get the information to make a definitive conclusion... now if the ID was different after they have been resized I might worry, but for range pick up I wouldn't

I asked because I know next to nothing about reloading and don't want to sell someone brass that has issues. I measured the OD because my cheap HF Calipers wouldn't measure the ID.
