    Bullets from Widener's

I just bought 2,000 bullets from Widener's. It said it is milspec 30 cal 168 grain HPBT which is similar to Sierra, but I don't think the quality is compatible. The price was good with free shipping. I was told by someone these bullets are manufacutred by Privi.

Does anyone have any experience with these bullets? I just loaded 20 rounds for my bolt rifle to test accuracy, but would appreciate anyone's input. If anything else, I can use the bullets for plinking in my M-1A rifles.

i just met someone this weekend shooting wideners 168gr from his Remmy 700and he didnt have one complaint about em'. His groups looked good from what i could see. He did say that there was about a total of 4gr. variance in his lot. he just paired all the -2gr bullets together as well as the +2gr bullets.

I weighed five bullets for the heck of it and they are within .5 grains. Maybe I need to do more of them.

From my observation, they're about 1moa (5-shot) at best (sorting may help but life is too short IMO). They are OK out to 600yds but beyond that their BC is NOT comparable to SMK's. The boat-tail angle is different and they don't fly as flat as comparable 168SMK or 168AMAX. OK for mid-range steel banging or informal position shooting.

        Luck favors the prepared.

The original battle plan did not survive initial contact with the enemy.
