I've recovered four Barnes 300 grain TSX from my 375 H&H and all of them have expanded to 2-3X the original diameter and three had over 290 grains retained weight while one had lost a petal so it weighed about 250 grains.
The weird thing was one of these bullets was recovered from a 150 Lbs. bushbuck that was shot at 50 yards. Dead center of the chest and broke the spine in a dozen places with the bullet stuck under the skin of it's butt. This same bullet has shot through both shoulders bones of a buffalo without stopping.Frank

While I must admit that I do not like copper bullets....Mostly because of the State trying to force me into using them.
That is pretty impressive.
Take care

Thanks for sharing this. These monolithic rounds are supposed to have a real rep for being bone busters. I see a lot of videos of guys taking shoulder shots on pig and deer to "anchor" them. I don't know how ethical that is, but it's pretty amazing to see what those solid copper rounds are capable of. I have my .270 zeroed with GMX, and my 6.5 zeroed with TTSX. Haven't had a chance to get out yet this deer season. Hopefully next weekend.Last edited by Dimitri A.; 10-17-2020, 2:09 PM.Comment

Dimitri A.---What is this crap about a shoulder shot being ethical or not?? I learned long ago to always try to break at least one shoulder. It will usually drop them when the shoulder breaks the spine and IF needed make a follow-up shot or tracking easier.
When I hunted Africa that is one of the 1st things my PH told be--aim to break a shoulder--Worked great for both my daughter and myself. most animals dropped where shot and the most any traveled was 50 yards.
have you even taken many animals? I shoot for vitals and a shoulder no matter what bullet I use and it has worked very well for many years on many different animalsA 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Lol shoulder shots are the best way to hit a boar. They arent built anywhere close to a deer.
A TTSX through both shoulders is the most ethical way to get one.Comment
