First reloads - .308 and 6.5x55

When I started loading for .308 I used H380 because that was all I could find. It was ok, but I moved on to IMR 4064 and I like how it's a good general purpose powder for 30 caliber-ish rounds. .308, 30-06, 8mm, 7.5 Swiss, .303 British, 7.62x54R, etc, one powder to feed them all. I haven't looked, but it's likely that it will work with 6.5 Swedish also.



I don't know if you mean only primers, but if you find the powder or brass that you want, I strongly suggest you order it RIGHT NOW. Powder prices haven't gone up so there's no point in waiting. Likewise back in Dec 2019 when ammo prices were really low powder prices were not particularly discounted. With prices staying constant & only availability changing (for the worse) there's no advantage in waiting for any supposed price drop.

Ok I'll order everything except primers. I'll use IMR 4064 for both. Then it's just matter of primers. I'm not gonna need primers for a few months so I'll not worry about those for now.

Next time I go to the desert I'll pick a spot where i can shoot farther. I need a good metal plate too, ping ping ping!
