Empty Shelves: Ammunition Sales Surge 139%

No real surprise to most of us!

The NSSF says ammunition sales were up 139 percent in the first six months 2020 as compared to sales during the first six months of 2019.

National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) indicates that ammunition sales were up 139 percent in the first six months 2020 as compared to sales during the first six months of 2019.

NSSF president and CEO Joe Bartozzi spoke at the 2020 Gun Rights Policy Conference over the weekend where he delivered the news on the surge in ammunition sales. He also noted that gun sales were 95 percent higher in the first six months of 2020 than they were during the same time period in 2019.reportedreportedAWR Hawkins is an award-winning Second Amendment columnist for Breitbart News and the writer/curator of Down Range with AWR Hawkins, a weekly newsletter focused on all things Second Amendment, also for Breitbart News. I wonder how they are selling more ammo when the shelves are empty.

        NICS checks, by month:

I was asked by someone I'd taken to the range to see what her daughter might want to get, but earlier this year asked if they could borrow a gun. I of course told them "No, I can't do that", and explained later that doing so could be a felony, AFAIK.
This was at the beginning of the TP bull, so at the beginning of the lock-down.

I know someone that picked up a Glock, in 9mm (I'm not a Glock guy, so I didn't ask if it was a G17, G26, G-money, or whatever), and she could find no ammo for her new handgun... Sucks for her. She did ask if I could reload her some, on the sly, and I told her I couldn't, but if she has a BBQ, after it cools down a bit, I'd bring some she could shoot while I was there...

When ~600,000 to ~1,600,000 more firearms, per month are sold than last year for the same month, I do NOT see shelves getting full anytime soon, especially if Aunt-Tifa keeps up with the violence, and the ignorant racist double-barrel Joe Biden wants to ban legally owned firearms because their are black...

My best guess is that people higher on the supply-chain are getting it before it gets out here.

Roll your own, and keep rolling, providing one has primers, or can find some...

I guess it is possible to make more ammo and sell that ammo but it would have to be going to government of some sort Fed. local or state rather than on the civilian market. That would still equal a increase in sales, sort of twisting the facts some but doable. The off shot of this is a sort of gun control, no bullets and guns are useless except to throw or bludgeon with. Components are the dead end of it as all needed components will go into making ammo for the govt. we reloaders get the left overs which anyone with a pair of eyes can see it ain't much. Being picky right now isn't a virtue. Deer and elk season is about to start this coming week end in a big way and the local range we drove by yesterday is jam packed. Lots of folks better already have it because they wont be buying any more to replace what they shot at the range. I'm good I have enough to last the rest of my life if I don't waste it but the next guy might be in for a tough time.

              "Millennials" (SP.)
Not an "R", but a "L", and I see the reason not to vote 3rd party, always, now...
I ADMIT, I ignorantly voted "Perot" in my first election I was able to vote in... even if he WAS the best candidate,
D's want to take guns and push socialism, and if we vote for the better candidate, a 3rd party spoiler-effect takes over, and D's get elected and push stupid ISHT like AWBs that have no effect on crime, just make legal owners hindered... for FEELZ, just like under the Clinton reign. Good thing it had a sunset.

I bet ya there's a heck of a lot more in back orders than that little 80 mil.
