Sure had some sticker shock lately

Sister-In Law was having some issues finding 9mm and she lives in Texas. I checked around at some of the online resources and found some fairly quickly but was sure surprised that some of the online suppliers were getting as much as 60.00 for a box of 50.

I guess I'm glad that earlier on I had stocked up and my supply is good. I used to reload many years ago and if these prices keep up I'm thinking that's my next step.

Hell yes. I was at LAX Ammo about a month ago. I didn't really need anything per se, I just wanted to get a box of Barnes LRX to try out in my hunting rifle. It was $10/box more than it had been a week before. That's not too bad I guess as demand for hunting ammo probably isn't too much in demand, but 9mm was at $40+/box. Super high demand, uncertain times, panic buying sure do wonders to drive prices up. I also read something somewhere that basically said that we don't mine lead here in the U.S., but get our lead supply from out of country, which makes it even more difficult to keep up with demand.

Whatever the case, I'm sure as hell glad I stocked up well before this non-sense started.

Dave, if you get back into handloading, you may be shocked there as well.
Component availability is bad, real bad for primers and bullets.

We took a long trip this summer. Didn’t take any ammo because I assumed other states would have plenty if we wanted to go shooting. Wrong! Empty shelves or very over priced stuff every place we looked.

        Crazy.

It might be tougher than you think to get what reloading components you will need. It can be done but it ain't gonna be easy or cheap, at least right now. Good luck

BAD thing is, neither DLDM nor the Anqueefers are gonna leave us ANY battlefield pick-ups.

ONLY thing THEY'RE gonna drop, is wet panties.

Yep and it is only going higher, Went to LAX and bought a couple of boxes of 500 9mm at $310.00 and went back to get more 3 weeks later....$317.00 is the new price. Insanity!

This is a lesson after this is over. It will happen again. Plan accordingly.

I had a feeling that may be the case.

Just saw this too this morning:

Arizona Breaking news, local stories, and On Your Side investigations from the state’s largest television newsroom.

I have ammo in all my calibers, but won't shoot it right now. I just see dollar signs with every pull of the trigger

Exactly!, we just moved and yesterday I was unpacking more "hidden" items that were among clothes and other unrelated items. Came across 4 boxes of 250 each 9mm ammo.

Feels like finding money in a pair of pants that you forgot about.
