Ditto on the nu finish. I use walnut media and used dryer sheets cut into strips - helps keep the media clean longer.

It is my understanding that Brasso contains ammonia which weakens brass, so I've never used it.

I was told something similar but don't recall if it was because of ammonia. This was from a couple of guys at a USPSA match that I have no reason to believe are experts on the matter. Not sure how true it is.

Yes, Brasso contains ammonia, which technically is bad for brass. Practically speaking though there isn't enough in it to worry about. I've been shooting for decades and cleaning with Brasso the whole time. A squirt or two in the tumbler is nothing to be concerned with.

Seriously, it's called Brasso, made for cleaning brass.

I use Nu Finish with a couple capfuls of mineral spirits. Run it in the tumbler for five minutes then dump the brass in. A friend uses Lucas Oil brass cleaner and he swears by it.

                        Look under case tumbling media.

And some mineral spirits to thin out the Nu Finish.
