Got an amazing deal(FREE) on a huge box of ammo. Most of it is VERY old. The .38 special looks fine. The 45 has some corrosion on it, is this stuff still ok to shoot? I'm going to be looking to sell it, just dont know it's value. (collectors item?) Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

as you can see the 45 ammo has some slight green corrosion powder like substance on it. is this still good? any of it collectors type stuff? What could I sell this stuff for? THANKS!

Sorry I cannot help as I am in the same boat as you. I also got a free box of the .45 ammo that looks almost idential to what you posted.

Mine does not read the same. Mine reads the same as your right up to the

      Ammunition LOT E.C. S-S-25141

      Repacked E.C. 9-44

Which i am assuming is Sept 1944

The brass case though does not even look like brass on mine.

Ya, just wondering if its still good. the 38 looks just as old, but looks flawless, no corrosion at all...

I would think the ammo would be fine for taking to the range and doing some plinking. I can't see the casings if they are overly corroded you make not want to use them. That's my opinion anyway.

Looks fine! Shoot it just like any other ammo. I went through a couple thousand rounds of this stuff with not one incident:

As long as you don't feel any deep pitting in the brass cases.

Thank guys for the input. I put it up of the marketplace for what I believe to be pretty reasonable prices. Thanks again!

In low pressure rounds like the .45, I wouldn't even worry about split cases as long as the bottom 2/3's were intact. ....
