    Annealing Machine Time Rental?

Anyone doing this in the Sac area? I'm thinking about making or buying a machine but really if I do this once in a while I'd rather just rent the time. I figure I'd bring my own propane tank too...

    I would anneal about 300pcs of 308 and 2k pcs of .223.

We had a couple of local guys build their own. Even the controller boards.

I've seen the plans, not sure I want to go through all that trouble, I even thought maybe I can get a set without the power supply (cause I already have one) and decrease that cost. Annealeez goes for almost $300. I guess I can "rent" out the time to recoup the cost myself but thought I should check here first. I know there's a few reloading shops around town, maybe they might have that service.

          ^^^Pfffft. Like hell you can.

Boling water temp is FIXED at 212 deg F. Hardly hot enough to anneal brass.

But don't take my word ...go here, educate yourself:

I looked up the boiling way and found this. Seems like more work.

If you were down south I’d let you come by and use mine.

I've been using the propane and drill/socket method, a machine would be nice but I need the 300 for ammo...

I made one. The only difference from this test run is that I had to put aluminum foil on case part of the lower wheel. It was the only part that stayed in constant contact with warm brass for longer than a second.

I made the part with PLA to test the design, and found out I could just leave the PLA parts.
Powered by 18650s (in parallel), that goes through a DC-DC step up converter to 6v, then through a PWM motor control module.

That's why a lot of the ones I've seen, people make the circles out of aluminum. I knew there would be people out there that would lend their time for cash. Now someone in Sac just needs to see this and want a little money.

How much to print me a gearbox and info on source of electrical components including motor? I have a 12V 9Amp power supply for Ham already so I won't need to use the battery parts. Thank you for showing me that it can be cheaper.

                          What the hell?

Seriously, a propane torch and a shallow pan of water is all you need.

Wait, is this one of those parody threads like 19 step brass cleaning ones?

OK, you guys got me. Well played

That's what I've been doing, but if there's a better way like this cheap DIY, then I can load 9mm, trim, prime, measure powder for rifle.... as I anneal. Just didn't want to spend $300+.
