Are there any restrictions for shipping Ammo out of California? I only want to ship a small about (under 500 rds) to my son. I just wanted to make sure that there are no issues and I'll just ship via UPS.

UPS with orme d and good to go. -
In the unlikely event you aren't shipping the ammunition in factory boxes I suggest you carefully pack the stuff so it does not roll around and the primers are protected from bullet tips or other impacts. I've taped pieces of corrugated cardboard over the bottoms of a group of primed cases that had neither powder nor bullets and that should be sufficient.
In the unlikely event a round did go off it probably wouldn't even get out of the box you pack everything in but it might scare a UPS worker and then you'd have some 'splainin' to do.
If you haven't seen this video about burning ammunition, it's worth a few minutes of your time.Comment

There are restrictions, don't really have to do w/ shipping from CA.
Do NOT mail USPS!
Label correctly and use a common carrier.
Here's an old thread w/ info regarding labeling: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...ad.php?t=54456
UPS info: https://www.ups.com/us/en/help-cente...mmunition.page
Alternatively, a black and white limited quantity marking (approximately 4 X 4 inches) may be used. (see example).
Stand up and be counted, or lay down and be mounted... -Mac

IME, you need to take it to a UPS Customer Service office (hub). The UPS store won't take it if properly labeled. Fed Ex office won't take it, but if you have a FedEx ground account (business), they will.
Above describes the packaging/labeling.Last edited by JagerDog; 08-09-2020, 2:59 PM.Palestine is a fake country
