SF South Bay Powder - 7lbs

Is there anyone in the South Bay that sells powder in 7lb jugs? I don't care right now if they are in stock or not, just looking for a distributor.

OK then, 8# jugs. And thank you, you're about as helpful as hemorrhoids.

Actually that seems like a pretty helpful response. Someone cannot help you buy something that does not exist and that was being pointed out to you.

Most reloading stores should have a variety in 1# and 8# jugs. Some pistol powders might come in 4# jugs. You can order some if you can wait the week for shipping, but then you should order 2 or 3 jugs to take advantage of HazMat charge.

              Powder Valley
              Grafs & Sons
              Midway

These are my go to sites for reloading components.

If you have a big chain store like Cabela's Bass Pro or Sportsman's Warehouse they all carry 1,5,8 pounders.

All good sites, but by the time you pay hazmat, shipping, and taxes, you might be better off trying to buy it locally if they sell it locally at all.

                    South SF Bay area?

Might check the Bass Pro in SJ. The Sportsmans Warehouse in Milpitas closed, I think.

Other than that, call shops that carry reloading supplies (sorry, not real familiar with shops in the south bay) and see if they'll order what you want.

The local Bass Pro only sells in 1# increments. The closest Sportsman's Warehouse is about 1.5 hrs away. Not a deal breaker, but it's a ways to drive and a gamble.

It is a lot of powder. But if loading .223, then a pound would last you 270 rounds and 4 pounds might get you to 1000 rounds. If using a Dillon 1050, that's only a couple of hours of reloading. With .308, it's worse.

Not any help for you NoCal guys, but Phillip’s (located in Covina CA) is less then an hour from the SoCal Bass Pro Shop. They sell 1,4 and 8 pounders.
