    Shipping primers

I need to ship some primers to a friend of mine back east but, Oops and FedUp tell me I can't do it without a hazmat certification AND a hazardous contract with them.

Anyone know anyone with such an account?

Any other "legal" way to ship these would solve my problem too.

I think if you have at a Fedex account, which is easy to open, they will ship them for you. You will need to call the department at Fedex that ships hazardous materials and check with them.

If you ship without being a CERTIFIED HAZMAT SHIPPER (federal certification), you can get very BIG fines. Simply, don't do it. It's not worth the risk!

I was told the same thing you were. I had several hundred primers to sell, but couldn't ship them to NorCal.

He could send you the brass and you could prime it then send the primed brass back UPS handled the same way as ammo.

I think I'll pass on priming, labeling, and shipping 5K pieces of mystery brass

If I can't find an existing HAZMAT qualified business that I can talk into shipping them for me, he's going to need a local supplier.

99% of UPS and FedEx Ground certified hazmat shippers are only set up to ship one or two kinds of hazmat items. Technically, with their hazmat certifications they can ship whatever hazmat items they want to, but they have only trained their employees to ship one or two kinds of items. Photo processing supply houses might ship out one kind of photo processing chemical, and that is the only thing that the employees know how to fill out the paperwork for. Plastic suppliers might only ship out one kind of hazmat resin, and that is the only thing their employees know how to ship. You are not likely to find a shipper willing to ship out a hazmat item that they are not familiar with. They won't want to take the time to figure out how to fill out the paperwork for a new type of hazmat product. Even if you found a shipper who is certified with FedEx Ground or UPS and who is used to shipping out primers and powder, you are going to run into the problem of them saying "why don't you just by the powder and primers from me?" or "how do I know what you are really shipping?"

Some items just need to be converted into cash before moving and then repurchased when you arrive at your new location.

5k of what kind of brass? I can prime all that in a day.
