used my new Labradar today

I ordered a labradar through brownells and it came in this week.
im very happy with it.

i took it out for measuring velocity of my reloads a bit ago, and also shot some factory loaded stuff as well.
records of all the recorded shots are saved to a flash drive, and can be opened with excel on a computer.
overall report lists velocity, Ke, and Pf for each shot.
individual report lists velocity in hundredths of a second and distance as the bullet travels from the device.

the 870 fps shots are 205gr federal syntech
the 965 fps shots are 180gr pmc.

the 980+ shots are the reloads.
I loaded .40sw, using 5.7gr CFE pistol powder and 180gr bullet.
This was my first time reloading as well.

The velocity was higher than i intended (and what the chart said), but I liked the feel of the powder, it was a fast pop - with little recoil; even with the high velocity (1k fps). im going to load some more tonight with 5.0 - 5.5gr then maybe go to the range in the morning to try it out.

Was this an indoor or outdoor range? Were there others shooting next to you? I have been looking at getting one of these.

it was an outdoor range.
you have to aim the unit at the target, and you shoot into the target from next to it.
they can operate on separate frequencies, so you can have more than one near each other.

instruction say to keep 5 meters from others.

Once you get a Labradar and use it, it's hard to go back to anything else!

Do yourself a favor and get the external USB battery pack because they chew AA batteries up really fast. The carrying case and Tripod are also a good investment.

A little tip- cut a McDonalds straw about 1.5" log and tape it in the notch on the top of the unit to help with aiming.

Enjoy your Labradar! They're expensive as hell but worth every penny once you get used to them.

ETA- To handle other shooters you adjust the Trigger Level and not the TX Channel (frequency). You use separate frequencies if other people are using Labradars nearby.
