Took me three different powders and about 200rds to find a load that shoots ALMOST as good as Black Hills 50gr Vmax through my bolt gun.

For my JP upper AR I "stumbled" on a load that shoots very well through it and need to fine tune it a bit to exploit it.

The cost of primers (if you can find them),powder (again..sometimes hard to find right now),brass, bullets, etc., are at such a price as to make me wonder how much I am actually saving by rolling my own.

I am kinda stuck now and basically have to reload as I have over 20K primers, 30lbs of powder, 2000+ empty cases of .223, and about 1200 bullets of different weights and types. Plus more "parts" for .243 and .308.

If I had to do over I would have taken the money I spent on all the reloading equipment and just bought cases of quality match grade ammo and been much happier.

    Take care,Stan
    Stan,

True most people begin reloading to save money but most that stay with reloading seem to do so because they enjoy the activity itself. I suppose it takes a certain personality. In reading your post, I did notice you used the word "stumbled" and other words that seemed to infer that your load development is a bit haphazard. Perhaps this is one of the reasons you're not finding enjoyment in reloading. Granted reloading is a TIME consuming activity that encroaches on family time but I try to do mine in the middle of the night. Anyhow, there are a number of systematic approaches to load development that will save you time and components, instead of the blind squirrel approach.

Feel free to ship ALL components and equipment to my address. I will take it off your hands for a modest fee....
