I would(and do) use IMR4895 for my loads going to be used in my M1Garand or my 1903A3. 47grs with a 150 or 147gr jacketed bullet.
Have not used Wc846 powder myself for anything so no help there.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

        4895.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Another 4895 recommendation, IMR or Hodgdon, but Hodgdon preferred. Accurate 2495 is also a good alternative and is made at the same plant in Canada as IMR 4895.

I've moved away from the old ball powders like H-335, BLC-2, 760, 748 etc. to the newer, more temperature stable powders like The Hodgdon "Extreme" line (H-4895,Varget ,Benchmark),IMR 8208 XBR and Alliant AR COMP.

I have a 1903 manufactured in 1918. I used 44 grains of IMR 4895 under a 168 grain Sierra Match BTHP. Pretty happy with that and the pressures are low for the age of the gun.
