Trimming 30-06 - What do you use?

I have CTS carbide trimmers for 223, 308, and I think 300 blackout. I also have a powered trimmer for press mount trimming to use my case feeder and trimm 223 & 300 blackout.

I decided to reload 30-06 to shoot my grandpa's 19o3a3 more. What method of trimming should I go with?

Wont be a mass shooting riffle and might only have to process about 100 pieces of brass and be done for a while.

Is there any reason you can't use the .308 trimmer for .30-06 since the case mouth diameters are the same?

For years I used a Forster trimmer with an adapter so a powered drill could be used.
I've switched to a Dillon motorized trimmer for 30-06, 308, and 223. Same trimmer for each, I just change the trimmer bodies/dies.

I have a Dillon 1500 for 223 and a frankford arsenal stand alone trimmer that handles any size for everything else. It works great but not for high volume trimming like 223 blaster rounds.

Looks like the CTS trimmer for 308 will work on the 30-06. I don’t mind handling 100 pieces of brass. It’s when it’s 200+ I’ll use the titan router trimmer I have. I need to source a boring bar for it though.

            There is.
His trimmer locates off the shoulder.
30-06 has a shallower shoulder angle than 308.
308 has a shorter neck length than 308.
The trimer might not have enough length adjustment range to account for the differences.

I use a Lee cutter and lock stud, with the appropriate Lee guage/holder.

Works great, inexpensive, and can be chucked into a hand drill or drill press.

I have 16 case forming/trim dies. I do not believe there is a more accurate/faster way to trim case necks than the trim die. When it comes to everything else I have had it and or sold it. It is expensive to purchase an attachment for every case you intend to trim.

When it comes to Lee I have it, that does not mean I use it but I have it JIC.

                  I use a Giraud.

O/P if you're looking for a reasonable case trimmer for multiple calibers, the new Lyman Case Trim Xpress. It has it's quirks, but for $130.00, it's a good deal.

Here's a review on accurate shoooter:

Great Case Trimmer for under $130.00 We think Lyman's new Case Trim Xpress will be a game changer for hand-loaders. If you’re like most of us, trimming your brass to length has been a dull,...

I don't follow your reasoning - buying "attachments" is expensive, buy buying case forming/trim dies for each caliber you want to trim is....... inexpensive?

my 30.06 shoots copper hunting rounds primarily so only about 50 pieces a year.
