    .357 in a 9mm?

    I thought I bought .356 hollow points to reload for my 9mm. Instead they are .357. Can I still do this? Might there be damage to the 9mm

          I think those are ~.3570...
          A full one-thou. difference.
          Hard jacket, and I am a boob when it comes to this that kind of difference.

          I need to check this thread when it fills up more...c...c....

            I have a box of .45 200gr SWC lead that are 0.001 to large. They are a difficult to load and bulge the case at the top some. The work fine in my Kimber. HK USP with aftermarket barrel won't fully seat them in the chamber. Haven't tried factory barrel. Decided to throw the rest of the box away.

              If you want, run them through a .356 bullet sizing die.

                I don't think that's a good idea for JACKETED bullets.

                Find a similar bullet weight and run on the very LOW side of the loading table and your probably OK.
                Just watch out for your OAL, depth inside the case and of course, whether they will chamber or not

                Or just trade/sell them

                  huh? It's the best idea for a jacketed bullet. I was going to say that if the OP's bullets are just hard cast, it should be OK but, if they are jacketed, I wouldn't do it without slugging the barrel and/or running the bullets through a .356 or .3555 resizing die.

                    What gun (barrel type) are you planning to shoot these out of?

                    Try loading up a cartridge with an unsized .357" bullet. Does the cartridge comfortably "plunk" into the chamber? Or do you get resistance?

                    If not, then try running the bullets through one of these:

                    Lee Classic Bullet Sizing Kit lubricates and sizes cast bullets, also seats and crimps gas checks. Fits any standard 7/8x14 thread reloading press.

                      Those are for 38/357

                      While you can load them in your 9mm, they will put a bit of extra wear on the barrell.

                      9mm = .355
                      357SIG = .356
                      38/257 = .357

                              Jacketed or lead?

                              OP, I wouldn't do it, JMO.
