Let's just say I'm not a fan of tumble lube.
Bullets tend to drop from the mold oversized.
That's why they get pushed through a sizing die.
I don't believe that un-sized bullets are consistent enough.

I used to lightly spray cases in a box and roll them around.
This was using an alcohol carrier lube and the carrier evaporates, leaving the lanolin.
That works good as long as you understand what constitutes "lightly".

Wow, did you really say that? You are dreaming if you see any similarity in your belittling and rude post and his reply. Step away from the keyboard before it gets you in trouble on this forum.

I have only used SS and not progressive, so I really don't know much about it. But when I load .223, I tumble after I size but before I prime. You can't believe how much walnut media gets stuck in the flash holes and primer pockets. Could that be the issue?

I noticed that problem if the primer is not exactly lined up with the primer pocket. It goes in cockeyed and gets all mashed up. Make sure your 650 has the correct primer ram and that the shell plate is ajusted correctly. If it was crimped or you had ringers left in it wouldn't go in at all.
