Do we need to crimp 25 acp?

Hey guys,
I got a Colt 25 acp Junior pocket pistol. I have some ammo maybe 150 rounds. I have 1000 fmj bullets so I'll need to pick up a die set soon in case anyone doesn't need theirs. When I start reloading I imagine I'll put a mild crimp. I'm looking at some factory ammo I have, Peters, which looks like an ancient box. Maybe I better see if a collector wants it before I use it. It looks like they have a crimp so that seems to answer the question but let me know if it's not necessary if it's such a mild shot.

It is a semi rimmed cartridge and headspaces on rim so crimping should be fine.

I might have a spare die set. I'll check when I get home.

The best luck I've had with throwing charges has been an old lyman #5

A #55 would work well, too.

The charge master is too slow

Rcbs uniflow didn't give great results for me

Lil dandy doesn't make a rotor small enough.

I'm thinking trying to drop a load at 1.3gr ish is probably too small for most powder measures to accurately do but it can probably be done. I'd probably use the scoop then trickle. I got pretty darn quick with my hornady trickle charger. I don't need to crank out too many rounds. I don't think lee makes and fcd for this round. Thanks Bumslie I would really appreciate if you have a set laying around =)

As I said, the layman's will handle it.

If you want to dip it, either use a .22 short case or file down a .22lr case until you get the scoop right.
I'll be taking stuff to storage tomorrow so I'll be able to see if I still have that extra set.

I use 1.3gn Titegroup in my 32SWL. The standard Hornady measure on an AP works fine with the pistol drum.

I recommend the Titan Micro Charge disk for the Lee Auto Disk Pro.

Apparently the Lee factory had a fire and the tooling to make their micro charge disk was destroyed, and Lee decided sales were too slow to justify replacing the tooling.

Normally I would agree, but trickle 1.2 gr on the CM and you'll see it's much slower than using a PM or a scoop.

I do like your .22 short work around. Perhaps solder/braze/epoxy a paper clip on to it to use as a scoop handle.
