I am having issues with my current set up. I just converted my 1050 press from 308 to 30 06. About 5 out of 10 pieces of brass are coming out with a ring towards the base of the brass. I have a Dillon carbide 30 06 trim die in on station #5. I have even tried backing the die out a few turns. I seem to never run into this issue if I just use a standard 30 06 carbide die. I am lubing cases with dillion case lube, I have tried unique lube and I am not over camming. Any ideas as to why the dillon trim die does this and not a regular FL die?

The Dillon trim die may be sizing the brass more than your standard dies.I am having issues with my current set up.

Measure the same spot (above the sizing ring) on cases sized with the Dillon trim die and cases sized with your regular die with a micrometer (not a caliper as calipers are not accurate enough) and see what the diameters are.Randall Rausch
