    Hornady Customer Service

You often read about Dillon's top notch customer service and support. I don't own a Dillon so can't confirm or deny. I do own a Hornady and can say that I am very impressed with their support.

I've called their tech support guys a few times with questions on setup or trouble I've had. Always very knowledgeable and helpful. I own an older version of their case feeder. Twice now, I've needed a replacement part. Both times they searched their old stock, found and sent the replacement free of charge. One of those times that employee seem to make it a personal mission to find the part. Took him 3 days but he found it.

Very impressed. Equally impressed with the product. I love my Lock n Load AP press. Built solid and runs like a champ. Anyone considering a press shouldn't think twice about buying a Hornady.

I have Dillon, Hornady and RCBS stuff and have been treated better than great by each company.
I cannot say the same for the lee stuff I own.

Companies dealing with the firearm industry seem to generally be really good for service and standing behind their products.

Like I said in another thread, both Dillon and Hornady (and RCBS) have the same great warranties, Dillon owners are just more vocal about it, probably because they paid more for their units (or break stuff more often ).

I've had terrible service with both. Hornady gave me trouble on 3 dif occasions (their own fault) enough for me to sell off their equipment.

We only needed the dillon service once during the reloading club and they gave us a hassle, too.

It all depends on who you get on the phone.

The only company that has been flawless for me has been RCBS.

Hornady has the worst customer service. Seriously awful. The first time I had a problem (missing dies in a new die set) they told me to take it up with the store I bought it from... They finally replaced them after calling again.

The last time they told me they’ve never heard of the issue I was having, and call back to start a return. Yeah ok. I’ll buy reloading stuff from anyone but you then.

Ive never had a Dillon problem so I can’t say either way.

I broke a decapping rod on an RCBS die, called to buy another one because I broke it being an idiot, and they sent me another one the next day. Above and beyond what I expected.

Odd I am the other way around. XTP 9mm and their ELDX's for my 300BLK subs are great.

Overall I have had great service in the industry in general. RCBS sending me a new seating profile, no charge for the die set I bought in high school 30yrs ago. Dillon sending me free primer push rod and powder housing that were both broken in a move, I call to buy them and they said na. here you go. Crazy.
I shoot to process brass and reload

I am glad to hear about Hornady's customer service. I have been a Dillon Precision fan for about 35 years, and one of the reasons I use their products is their customer service.

Funny, I had the opposite experience with Hornady. When I received my LNL AP it was missing a primer tube. Most likely not Hornady's fault as the vendor opened the box to add additional items and it probably fell out. In spite of that after having to listen to a hilarious initial phone directory message and then a live person, I had another primer tube couple of days later, no cost to me, of course.

I'm glad they helped somebody, but three issues is way too many.
