Help me with my lee auto drum

I've been getting very inconsistent charges. I just removed the disconnect to see if that would help and it didn't, the issues persist. I'm getting the following types of charges -

    Aiming for 5.5 and getting

    1)5.5
    2)5.4
    3)5.5
    4)5.5
    5)1.7
    6)0
    7)0
    8)0
    9).9
    10)5.5

What can be causing this type of issue? Almost seems like some type of cyclical clog, anyone else deal with something like this? I've read about the common issues and have applied graphite and polished interior surfaces etc. This seems like something else. How's the Lee warranty?

I had Auto Drum on Lee turret Classic. I do not install the "disconnect" or whatever you said.
    (1) I marked two marks on my A Drum. BEFORE I pulled the handle I make sure the "star point" is at "top mark" where to get the powder.
    (2) AFTER I pull the handle down, I make sure that the "star point" is at the "bottom mark" where dispense powder to the case.

Make sure that the rod is all the way to one side and the hole is on the other side

For your problem of pull 5th - 9th, I think the "star point" never reach the top mark (to get the powder) and bottom marks (To dispense powder). Release the back knop (1/4 turn or less) to release a little bit tension so make the "star" point can move easily, try that let see if it help

Thank you, I think you're right about starting and end point. I took apart polished and it threw a consistent charge 80 times in a row so far. I'll also mark mine. Still don't trust it though...gotta weigh every single one

I haven't had any issues with mine. Are you sure the drums rotating fill to drop everytime?

I add/deduct 0.1 gr to the weight I want to set.
          (1) the book said 4.3-5.4 , I want to light load 4.3 then I set 4.4 , 0.1 gr for tolerance of the A. Drum
          (2) the book said 4.3-5.4 , I want to heavy load 5.4 then I set 5.3 , 0.1 gr for tolerance of the A. Drum
          (3)the book said 4.3-5.4 , I want to medium load 4.9 then I set 4.9
          (4) If I reload the magnum ammo for 8-9 gr then the tolerance is 0.2 gr.

I recheck the powder weight (and adjust if necessary) every 50 rds, I do not expect "right on the money" for a $50 powder dispenser.

Right on! But I think this may have been intended for another thread?

I opened the drum and cleaned the interior then polished with mothers. I was careful with not over tightening the screw and marked the positions. It gave me 100 perfect charges (weighed every single one). Still don't trust it.
I think it might have been a tight screw as it was difficult to remove, but had it been that, why did some charge perfectly then give zeros? Oh well..

When consistently obtaining the desired powder amount accurately and without fail becomes a priority...

I'd check RCBS and see if they have any remaining all American made powder throwers, or you can check
with Redding. Redding has always made their precision tools here in the U.S.

The screw has to be tight enough, or the powder will bind up the drum. I got another set of drums and noticed the face is now textured. Works fine.

i keep an eye on to make sure the charge goes into the case, i know if it "looks" close its most likely perfect. I weigh every 10 charges and now i do every 20. My charges barely vary .1 grn. and 99% of the time its repeatable.

If anyone runs into the issue, the main thing is to make sure no powder has room to escape before the drop and that its sealed. After that as long as the dropper has full movement it should drop the entire charge.
