    45acp Hornady 185 HAP

I've been trying to find loading data specifically for the 45acp Hornady 185gr HAP bullet. I can't seem to find it,for what ever reason. I would greatly appreciate any advice for this particular load. Thanks

It's an XTP without the expansion slashes. Use anything that works for 185gr XTP.

              45acp Hornady 185 HAP

For lighter bullet (185), I think 6.1 can be a safe starting point. 231 window is narrow, similar to bullseye. So we may want to stop at 950.

I just found a 50cal full of my Hap reloads. They are coming out to oacl of 1.237-1.239

I sized that to run perfect through my sig 1911. It crimps just at the point of taper at 1.237 and can see a bit of the non tapered part on ones loaded to 1.239.

For 231, and a 185gr hap bullet, Lyman shows a starting point of 4.4gr And max of 6.1gr.

Nosler shows starting of 5.1gr to max of 6.1gr

Ok, Thanks Jasonz. I was thinking of starting at 5.8, so that's close. It(231)does have a small load window from min to max.

I really appreciate your help. I can't believe that I looked on the World Wide Web for hours looking for those two pages with no luck. Should have come here first, but I was on a mission to find without help. That didn't work. Thanks again guys.
