Wooden Bullets

I found a case of old Israeli "Training bullets: chambered in .308. They were only $5.99 for a 20 pack, but I've never heard of such a thing. These were live brass cartridges, just had wooden bullets in them.

Anyway, I thought they were odd, don't think I would have any use for them other than a novelty item.

Anyone shot these before?

That is cool, maybe I will have to buy a wood lathe and make my own!!! Is there data in the speer manual?

Never shot them but I do know they are for short range practice. Such a lite projectile would slow down very quickly.

They are blanks - the wood bullet makes it feed easier --bullet breaks up as it leaves the muzzle --
