231 and HP38 are IDENTICAL. I have even seen 231 and HP38 with the same lot number.

          So you're saying they're similar?

O, I'm saying that they are more than just similar. They are identical. They are made in the same factory to the same formula. The only difference is the label on the container.

I wasn't going to say anything because the site showed HP-38. And Hp-38 and W231 are so close I chose
to let this oversight slide. Plus I heard from a commercial Reloader that Winchester is trying to ax W231.

Darn good Post for 9mm powder I must admit.
The pictures of HP38 I've seen don't look anything like the 231 I have.

Maybe one of then has changed over the years.

Maybe you could chrony some loads and write-up a comparison for us. You know, to settle the question.

I would not describe them as "pretty similar". They are the same powder. Not just similar but identical.

Use that website's data with caution. Many +P+ loads are listed so even reducing by 10% may still be at, or over SAAMI max. Even if you can handle it, your guns may not.

No, not close. They are the SAME powder. The factory makes a batch of powder and fills the containers. Some containers get a 231 label the rest of the containers get HP38 labels.
