    Shotgun Shell Hazardous Waste Fee???

    Calgunners,

I went into Wally World this evening originally to swap out some scope rings - someone put the wrong rings in the package I picked up - and ran into a few fellow Calgunners (WW in Mountain View).

One of them told me that shotgun shells were soon going to have something like 50 cents per shell hazardous fee?

    Is this true?

I know this has been mentioned before - but WW is limiting ammo purchases for handguns and rifles to 6 'items' - I think 'items' can be loosely defined...

No limit on shotgun shells yet - but I imagine there will be a surge of buying if the hazardous waste fee thing goes into effect soon.

It's a little hard to believe the ammo situation is actually worse than immediately around election time last year ...

    Regards,

Sounds like FUD to me. There are loads of people who will buy, or at the very least come pick up your once fired shells.

Maybe a .50 cents a box deposit like old coke bottles have in Recycle value?

If so, you can go to your local outdoor range and get rich by raking up old shells and cashing in! (positive spin)

At this time I think it is just rumor -- but, we have a very creative state legislature when it comes to taxes -- 43billion deficit will have to come from somewhere - sooo, anything is possible -- It would be an easy tax to impose, as it effects so few -- my ha-penny

They'll try to get it from anywhere but cutting the crazy spending they do.
