I hit our public range every now and then and I pick up every piece of brass I can. #1 it cleans the range #2 I can use and reload most of it #3 I can trade off what I don't use #4 all the scrap and rim fire go in the recycle bucket...win win.

I also get to scrounge our police range and pick up all the brass our officers shoot. Lots of .223 and 40 cal. I have box's full all over the place

Did some brass scrounging at the range today too. I always seem to be the only one doing it and I look like a brass hobo bent over picking up every piece of brass around me. Oh well at least I'm saving money!

So whom among you range scroungers has any .32 Long Colt cases burning a hole in your range bag?

I'd be willing to bet nobody. I'm sure the people that would pick up .32 Long Colt brass are the people that actually use it

I MIGHT have some. It could take me a few hours to find it IF I actually have any. Do you have any 11x50R Comblain or 7.5 Nagant (not 7.62x38R) brass to trade? If not, I might be interested in 25-20, 7.35 Carcano, 8x56R or 7.5x53.5 (not 7.5x55).

People that don't shoot a lot won't reload. I was so cheap I'd make 7.65 Argentine Mauser, 7.7 Jap and 8mm Mauser out of 30-06 cases

I scored well over a hundred 6.8 spc today, along with another hundred or more 10mm and some 30-30.

I don't generally bother picking up 9/40/45/223/308, as I have a bunch, but if it's in a nice little pile and especially clean, I may.

I cringe to think of how much relatively expensive brass I left behind for scavnegers all the years before I started loading my own.

I know I have 8 or 13 or so of them laying around somewhere. If I come across them in March when I plan to do some massive brass and bullet sorting projects, I'll let ya know.

Need some help unloading that 9mm or 45ACP? I'm in need of 9mm brass since I've started shooting a lot more.

When I was very little, my mom used to warn me not to touch things that I would find on the ground, "Drop it Tommy, you don't know where it's been".

Seems to me that you would be perhaps picking up some one elses junk.
Why didn't they pick it back up? Because it had just been reloaded for the 12th time? Something wrong with this brass to begin with?

Except for 7.62X54R starting to become scarce, brass is otherwise cheap today to buy new.
                      Tommy

Went to WEGC today, some schmucks left a couple hundred freshly fired .45 acp and 9mm cases behind. I guess it was a good day.

a month or so ago I got 3, 20 round boxes of once fired hornady .458 mag brass.

Looked it up brass alone is like a buck each? anyway I do not have a 458 mag but now thinking about it, LOL.

Last time I was at Angeles Range there were some younger shooters blasting away 6.5CM. I politely asked them if I could have their brass. They looked at me kinda funny and say OK. Must have gotten 20-30 cases.
Eventually I'll shoot 6.5CM. Still saving for my lefty AI or GA Precision.

Whether someone keeps their brass or not is determined by if they reload that round and if that brass is high enough quality if they reload.

For example, 45 was recently on sale for 20 cents/round. Reloading would cost about 14 cents + time. If someone shoots 100 rounds/week, is it worth $6 to reload it?
