168 Grains BTHP

Has anyone tried the 168 or 175 grains bulk bullets from Widener's? If yes, how accurate is it at 100 yards? SUB-MOA?

I'm curious as well how they might compare to matchkings for a bulk practice bullet

Does weight matter at that distance? I thought the 168's and the 175's were for getting the .308 out to 1000yds. I am not a very good shot but I can get 1 1/2" groups with 147's out of my FAL at 100 yds.

The reason why i'm asking about at 100 yards is to verify what kind of accuracy it has at a short range to test loads accordingly. Thus more of a plniking round for less than 300 yards. For 600 yards, the standard SMKs will be used.

I would try the 168s but not the others. The "175"s look like they are the old 173 bullets that were used before the military went wit the 175s. If so they weren't that great.

Those bullets are manufactured by Privi Partizan (PPU headstamp) in former Yugoslavia. The 168HPBT "appears" similar to a SMK and the 175FMJBT "appears" to be similar to 173FMJBT (M118). In my own experience and from what I have gathered from other forums, this is at BEST 1moa ammo. It also chronographs SLOW (2500fps). It will NOT get you to 1Kyds. The BC seems about ~.400-.425

It's better than battlepacks but not anywhere equal to FGMM and real match ammo. But then it costs less. It's OK for banging steel out to 500yds, just don't shoot groups with it. It will depress you.
