    .303 Enfield Round ?????

A friend purchased and Enfield Rifle and 100 Rounds of this Ammo way back when.

He has fired several pieces and is mystified as I am as to the Origin, Manufacturer and the Propellant it contains. The bullet is a 175 Gr Jacketed Lead core. Any help is no only Educational but truly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Bruce J.

After this tread wears out, I am going to have some World War One .303
cartridges that are currently kicking around the garage questions.

Thank you all (almost), you have been very helpful. And of course there's almost always one who throws in their mindless BS.

When did the connections & similarities between WW1 .303 cartridges at hand and the .303 Brit
propellant origins you have concerns about become "mindless"?

I will let those more informed than me answer that question. Then we shall see who is the real
unknown three-oh-three propellant mindless BSer is. You are Welcome.

As for priming former berdan brass:

Berdan primers usually aren't the same diameter as our large rifle primers. YT shows a way, after
primer removal, to make a brass sleeve for the newly converted primer pocket.

Around here decent boxer brass for .303 Brit and 7.62x54R is non existent unless it's Lapua at a dollar
per empty case plus shipping and if it's in stock and if they will ship to CA.

I disagree. I've been reloading spent PPU brass for my M39 for quite a while...
Taken many pigs and a few deer with 150gr Hornady XP and PPU brass.

As for .308, I buy WIN or R-P once fired brass for ~.12 to .15 cents a piece when needed. And it's always in stock.
Who has same in 54R or .303? I'm a buyer.
I understand PPU brass quality is sometimes questionable, but any PPU that I've ever seen looks good. Be sure to include a phone number.

Looks like Graf has 54R Lapua at almost a buck-forty-three a piece. Norma at a buck, and Privi at 50 cents.
Brit .303 Winchester brass at 50 cents. Other Brit .303 brass brands mirror 54R prices.
Appears that availability & prices have improved for buyers. Good for us.
But these two calibers are still more than twice that of local buys of 30 cal brass and I've not mentioned anything about shipping or tax.

                          Appreciate the clue from Howie44.

Now who has some 7.65x53mm (765 Argentine) boxer empties for sale?
