How about this quote from July 18 , 2008 "When it comes to reloading there are no standards "

Guess that will be enough for now .

How do you measure them to know how much tensions are being used ?

I modified one of my Rock Chuckers to cam over. And I was involved in increasing cam over on am A2 RCBS press. The cam over was increased to .035". The amount of bump on the A3 was .035". Again, bump is a function of the press, reloaders believe they can bump the shoulder back. It was then and still is impossible to bump the shoulder back or move it back.

And yet I remember a little while ago. Ol' Guffy saying you can't cam over a press.
And I ask "Have you no pride?".

A whole back I said I have press instructions from the late 50s/early 60s. Some of the instructions covered cam over and non camover presses. Presses that cammed over were also called bump presses.

Again, I have over 12 Herter presses, all of my Herter presses are cam over press, The instructions cover dee adjustments; die adjustment for the cam over press is different than die adjustment for a non camover press.

only asked if it was then or now ?

Typing slower; The Rock Chucker will not cam over. The Rock Chucker goes into a bind first. When it goes into a bind it kicks the ram back at the bottom and forward at the top.

I am the only reloader that has made that claim. To allow the Rock Chucker to cam over I did a small amount of grinding at the point the Rock Chucker goes in to a bind., And I am the only reloader that has made that claim. To examine the Rock Chucker the reloaders must take his hands off of the keyboard, reloaders do not know where the Rock Chucker linkage makes contact.

There is not one reloaders on this forum that can measure cam over and there is not one reloaders that can explain why it is necessary the die must be adjusted differently on the cam over press than on the non cam over press.

There was a a reloader that made the claim he was the one that started a new term and he wanted credit for his effort. Another reloader that is good at Google and searching archives told him "not so fast", he said he did the Google search and searched the archives and found two mentions of the term the selfish reloader was claiming.

He said F. Guffey was the author of both post.

This proves reloaders can be around something all their lives and not understand it. My vise grips have a design that was invented in about 1934, the design is leaver lock.

In the very early years I made a case sorter for case length; it allowed me to sort cases by the thousandth as fast as I could pick them up. Back then reloaders thought the datum was a line

And you are still blaming me for you knowing nothing.

And then there is tension; again, I have tension gages, all of my tension gages are marked off in pounds except for the deviation gages, they are marked off in thousandths and measured in pounds.

Not my fault, there is no conversion for tensions to pounds or pounds to tensions. But if there was a way to measure tensions I would be the only one that could do it. Interference fit, crush fit? I have put some big stuff together, if there was a way to measure tensions I could do it.

You guys have too much time invested in cute little sayings and then you get all out of shape when I ask you to measure tensions.
