458 Socom loading on a Dillon?

    Any one loaded 458 SoCom on a Dillon? Have both a 550 & 650.

Plan on doing brass prep ahead of time, so just priming, powder, seat bullet and lite crimp.

Sounds pretty simple. Do you have an on the press trimmer? I would do deprive and size, prime trim, Powder, seat bullet, crimp, on the 650 in one pass for straight walled case. 2 passes required on the 550.

No help here, sorry. My 2 cents:
I have a 550 but I really prefer to load .458 one at a time on a RCBS single stage. Those cases are a bit tricky and if not fully lubed will pull the head from the case. I've toyed with the idea of sizing first then running them through the 550. I personally do not shoot enough quantity of 458 that would make it worth my time. I shoot maybe 200 rounds per year, fun to plink with for sure (totally fun when folks at range wonder "what the hell" when ya touch one off) but expensive. I tend to shoot 300 grains barnes copper, 26 grains of lilgun. Pigs tremble then simply fall down at just the sound of em.

I load it pretty consistently on an xl650; doing batches once every quarter or so, casefeeder, modded bullet feeder and all.

First I wipe off and anneal the neck on the filthy brass, then I do depriming and sizing with one run, separately trim on one of those franklin armory trimmers, gauge it, then load up.

I'm using the hornady die for now, works pretty well.

If I could do something extra, depending on the heat of my load I've seen some necks bent slightly in; I'll probably eventually buy a ball expander to remove any inward bends. As it stands now it's minor enough for me not to care much about.
