    Friends without ammo

Am I the only one who has friends and relatives with out ammo? Thanks to Calguns with the update of the ammo prices/shortages I bought a good amount prior to the election. My stash of 9mm is slowly going down but I am happy to help out. Most of my friends that are hitting me up were use to stopping at Wally World on the way to the range. They sure are dumb founded when they talk to me about the lack of ammo. I just info them about what is happening and sell a few hundred rounds. It is a double win, it feels good to help and it allows me to educate another shooter.

Friends without ammo? Nah, but then I got a lot fewer friends than I had a few months ago!

Not 100% sure friend - but you may need an FFL to sell ammo - be careful compadre.

I had some friends that would do that same thing. Hit up walmart right before going to shoot. Well I finally convinced some of them to stock up a few hundred rounds before the craze hit. They now tell me that they should stocked up some more.

If they ask me for ammo, I simply tell them no. Not going to happen.

would that mean that everyone in the Calguns "Private Ammo Sale" Section would be violating the law if they dont have an FFL

You don't need a FFL to sell small amounts of ammo to family and friends in CA right now. A FFL is generally required to manufacture and sell ammunition that you or your company loaded for sale.

All of my friends have more ammo or have better access to ammo than me.

I took some friends to the range the other day and we shot 9mm, 40, 45, 223, 308. You know basically all the calibers of the rainbow, and one of them handed me 20 bucks as thanks. Yup, 20 bucks. Haha, I didnt ask for money, but I thought it was funny that someone would think ammo is that cheap.

I have a few people that I would normally go to the range with - but they don't have any ammo. Only reason why I have any is because working from home I can make the time to drive for hours on end hunting for it. Even then my stock-pile isn't much of a stock-pile. I've got maybe a 2-3 range trip supply at any given time.

Yeah... I buy most of my stuff on line (or at shows) so I tend to get it thousands of rounds at a time... and most of my buddies have 'borrowed' ammo from me from time to time...

I'd say the real problem is that even some of the weary shooters out there are starting to run down their collections. If the drought lasts through the summer we might see much more in the way of people bumming ammo
According to this CDC document the firearms related death rate has been surpassed by the poisoning death rate.

Time for an assault drain-cleaner ban?

I've been helping supply them with ammo through a hookup. So there's no reason they shouldn't have any. So no bumming from me when the ones that didn't buy any aren't able to find any ammo. You snooze, you lose. I'm online all the time checking websites and looking for ammo for my own stash, since there's certain stuff my hookup is out of or can't get.

I sell them once then ask how much they want when I find some next time. They always seem to want a few hundred more.

The OP is going to find that warm feeling form being helpful won't be worth a bucket of warm spit when his ammo grows thin and none of his friends have been weened / taught to start foraging for their own.
