    Question?

Does anyone know of a conversion chart? From regular powder to black powder.
I was think of loading some shells up with black powder if the Varget is not around or regular powder is hard to get.

Black powder and smokeless powder are not interchangeable. You need to start from scratch and develop the loads yourself.

Safer to just throw the bullets at the target.

Even I, a person with a Death Wish when doing WildCat loads won't go there.

This would depend entirely on the cartridge you're loading for.

We are still using many cartridges originally designed for black powder; 32-20, 32 Winchester special, 44-40, 45 colt, and the 45-70 come to mind. Typically straight wall with a slow twist. Any of these can be safely loaded with the holy black. The data is still out there.

On the other hand, I would not want to be in the same county as the guy pulling the trigger on his 7mm magnum with a case full of fffg.

True Same time you just done throw in 15 grains and then press a bullet in. You will then have just made a bomb.
Black powder can not have any air inbetween the bullet and the powder. The bullet must be compress to the powder. Same time the lube is different you can not use a smokeless powder lube as it will cause a lot of fouling. Often in order to use or load a reduced load blackpowder users will load a certain amount of black powder then put a fiber wad then fill it up with oatmeal or cream of wheat then press in the bullet. For bottle neck shells load the powder past the bottle part then press the bullet to meet the powder. Need to know what kind of bullet though. there are some rounds that can safely use black powder but others not too smart.
